What a weekend it was for The Ponds Little Athletics Club at the regional championships! With 73 of our athletes competing in a massive 189 events, we had an incredible showing, bringing home 5 gold, 13 silver, and 12 bronze medals! But more than the medals, this weekend was about so much more.
It was about camaraderie and friendship, with our little athletes cheering each other on and parents supporting not just their own kids, but the whole team. It was about seeing the kids’ faces light up when they spotted friends from other clubs and knowing that their hard work is paying off every time they step on the track.
Through injuries, withdrawals, tough weather, and a few disappointments, our athletes never gave up. They showed determination, resilience, and a whole lot of heart—exactly what makes our club so special. And of course, our Ponds pride was on full display, with our families and kids rocking their regional shirts, socks, hats, and even some creative hairdos!
No matter the results, every single athlete who showed up, gave it their all, and kept pushing forward should be so proud. This weekend reminded us all why we love this sport and this club—because it’s about showing up, supporting each other, and having a go, no matter what.
Congratulations to all our littel frogs and their families.
